Sembra are a multi-genre and multi-cultural three-piece band. An Italian word that directly translates to ‘it seems’, ‘it looks like’ or ‘it feels like’, the band’s adoption of the word ‘sembra’ represents their musical perspective of freedom, fusion and illusion.

Deriving inspiration from the genres of Jazz, Funk, Neo-soul, Brazilian music and RnB, the band have played live at Malt and Morocco Bound Bookshop in Bermondsey, with upcoming gigs at Sofar Sounds and the De Bruiloft festival in France. They are inspired by artists such as Esperanza Spalding, Bala Desejo and various acts encountered on the London jazz scene.

Originating from Italy, Greece, France, India and Wales, the trio aspire to traverse musical cultures and ideas to create a dynamic sound alongside storytelling lyrics. Occasionally integrating piano, congas and percussion, the band harbours a playful and exploratory approach to music making, developed by their regular presence at London jam nights.

Flo is re-emerging onto the scene after a 9 year absence. She is described as a soulful singer. Her inspirations include Etta James, Ottis Redding, Adele & Sam Smith.
