After many years of singing song ideas into her phone and practicing her vocals, Neiyla became tired of waiting for someone else to make her dream a reality. She started organising her own gigs at the age of 16 and as the years have passed, she has managed to not only sing in her home country Austria but also to organise shows in London, Berlin, Edinburgh, and Southern England.

She has performed at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, the Hampstead Jazz Club in London, the Marianne Mendt Jazz Festival and as the star guest of the International Youth-Theatre-Award 2019. In September 2020 she released her debut single “Good Thing” in the style of Pop/RnB which received airplay on major Austrian radio stations like Hitradio Ö3 as well as other European radio stations and TV appearances on ORF2 and Puls4.

A special highlight of Neiyla’s career as a singer-songwriter was performing her song “Unthinkable” for researcher Jane Goodall and to perform at the final of the Austrian Composer Songwriter Award 2023 at Porgy & Bess. Through cooperation with the international charity organization “Kindernothilfe” her song “Unthinkable” has been given the chance to fulfil its purpse and help people in need which means a lot to her.

Germinated in the grounds of Greece and Georgia through the process of Musicsynthesis, theanò’s source of energy was music and now she has planted herself as an artist that the music industry has been lacking.

While immersing herself in various genres from jazz, pop, funk, soul and psychedelic music to traditional music of countries such as Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Georgia, India, and regions such as Africa and the Balkans, the sound she has created is inevitably and unarguably a unique and hypnotizing fusion.

She flaunts her soulful voice over colorful psychedelic arrangements, with mesmerizing melodies and thought-provoking lyrics drawing inspiration from nature, stories of everyday life, books and movies, art and most of all, her bucolic upbringing.

theanò is currently writing and recording more music for her upcoming EP ‘Rhombus’ while showcasing her music in venues around London.
